At present, a trough is extending from Chhattisgarh up to southern Peninsula across Vidarbha. Most parts of Maharashtra are observing westerly-northwesterly winds.
The temperature is already above normal by 2 to 3 degree Celsius over the Vidarbha region -the hottest belt of the country- and is likely to remain the same or might even increase marginally over the next 24 hours. Mostly dry weather will prevail over the region for the next 2 to 3 days.
The coastal stations will face humid conditions during afternoon hours while comfortable conditions are likely to prevail during evening. Many cities like Mumbai, will see an uneasily humid afternoon. But moderate breeze will change the atmosphere towards the evening, bringing in some comfort.

However, Vidarbha region may continue to observe uneasy and hot weather conditions. Nights are expected to be warm as well.
As there is no significant system in sight, dry west-northwesterly winds will prevail over the area with moderate wind speed. As the winds would be coming from the Arabian sea, the temperatures over Gujarat will remain close to normal. These winds may pick up loose dust towards afternoon with gusty winds.
West Madhya Pradesh is also likely to witness hot weather with temperatures settling marginally above normal. Afternoon will turn very uneasy with warm winds and dusty conditions.
Extreme north of Madhya Pradesh may witness isolated thunderstorm activity with a warm afternoon and comfortable evening.
Rise in temperatures will be observed in Chhattisgarh as well. Southern districts of Chhattisgarh might observe thunderstorm and light rains in few pockets such as Jagdalpur, Bastar and Raipur.
