The Mumbai city kept on receiving Monsoon showers all through Friday with incessant rains likewise being recorded in some areas for a long span. Due to these incessant downpours, there was water logging at several places in the city amid the day time, to be specific at Dadar and at Sion street.

Therefore, traffic had to be diverted. Not just this, the celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi have started on a rainy note as heavy downpours have been lashing the city of Mumbai.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Mumbai’s Santa Cruz observatory recorded 90 mm of rainfall, whereas Colaba observatory recorded 39 mm of rain.

These weather conditions can be attributed to an active offshore trough which is seen running from Gujarat Coast up to Kerala Coast. Also, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas, which is likely to move westwards.
