Mumbai rains have remained absent from the commercial capital of the country for quite some time now. Not even a drop of rain has been observed in the maximum city for more than thirty days. Usually, the first four months of the year remain dry with the average monthly rainfall being less than 1 mm.
However, rains pick up during the month of May and the average rainfall figures go up to 12.5 mm. Heavy rains commence in Mumbai between the months of June and September when the city receives three digit rainfall in a month.
While the city has received no rains in April, some thunderstorm activity is likely during the next 48 hours or so in Mumbai and its adjoining areas as well. During this period, one or two places may receive light rain as well.
A very feeble trough is developing over South Coastal Gujarat and adjoining North Madhya Maharashtra which may result in some weather activity over the capital city of Maharashtra.
In terms of maximum temperatures, no major change is expected. However, maximum will remain in the lower 30s. Also, moderate sea breeze will keep the evenings on the pleasant side. Nights will also remain breezy and comfortable.
