Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai to see a rainy today

During the mid of March, various weather conditions persist over different parts of the country. While the wintry touch still exists in the hills of North India which sometimes spills over the plains including Delhi, Pre-Monsoon begins over the southern parts of the country including Chennai. Meanwhile, the regions of Kolkata and Mumbai begin to witness humid and warm weather conditions resulting in discomfort.

However, currently, all the four metro cities of Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata have been witnessing similar weather conditions in terms of maximum temperatures. As of yesterday, Mumbai recorded its maximum at 35 degrees, Delhi at 36 degrees, Kolkata at 35.6 degrees, and Chennai at 33 degrees Celsius.

Minimums are slightly different with Chennai being the warmest at 26 degrees, followed by Kolkata and Mumbai at 23 degrees Celsius, with Delhi being the coldest at 17 degrees Celsius.

In the coming days, Delhi may see some drop in the form of temperatures while Chennai will remain the same.

A similar weather condition is expected over all these metro cities tomorrow in the form of rains. Delhi and Kolkata are expected to witness some thunderstorm today. Delhi may see some weather activity in the later part of the day due to the induced cyclonic circulation. Rain in Kolkata may be seen during the late-night hours spilling on March 16 in view of the confluence zone formed close to the region.

Meanwhile, Mumbai may also stand a chance of rainfall today due to the system in the Arabian Sea and the trough extending along the Konkan and Goa coast. Chennai also stands a chance of witnessing rains due to the confluence zone formed in proximity of the region.
