It has been more than a month now and Mumbai continues to battle dry weather. The month of November has witnessed a significant drop in rains. Generally, the monthly average rainfall for October stands at 89.3 mm which significantly drops to 9.9 mm in November.

However, this year, the month of November has not seen any rains. In fact, the same situation has been occurring since the last 10 years.

Last year too, Mumbai received ‘trace rainfall’ i.e. rains less than 1 mm.  Similarly in 2008, only 0.1 mm of rainfall was recorded over Mumbai.

The rainiest November for Mumbai during last one decade was in 2009, when Santa Cruz observatory had recorded 77.5 mm of rains.

At present, maximums of Mumbai are above normal by 3℃ whereas, minimums are near normal. In the coming days, no major change in the temperature of the city is expected.

Moreover, in the absence of any significant weather system such as Cyclonic Circulation or Low Pressure area, dry winds will continue over the city.

Days are warm and sunny, while nights as cool and comfortable with temperatures oscillating between 19℃ and 20℃.
