Mumbai weather remained somewhat warm during the last few days of the year 2016. So much so that both the maximum and the minimum temperatures remained mostly close to the normal levels. In fact, the minimums even went up 22.6 degree Celsius around December 15.
However, the year 2017 seems to be bringing some good news in terms of weather conditions. While the first two days saw the minimums being close to the normal levels, the latter half of the first week of January is getting cooler day by day. Since January 3, the temperatures have been settling below the normal levels.
On January 3, the minimum settled at 15.4 degrees. Yesterday, the minimum temperature dropped down to 14.7 degree Celsius which is two degrees below the normal levels. During the early morning hours of today as well, the minimum temperature was recorded at 14.6 degrees.
These weather conditions can be attributed to the presence of northeasterly cold winds in combination with the clear sky conditions. As per weathermen at Skymet, these weather conditions are expected to remain the same for the next few days as the cold northeasterly winds are likely to continue for the next two to three days.
Not only this, chances are that during the next 24 to 48 hours, minimum temperatures may fall even further resulting in cool weather during the night. Looks like the weather gods are giving the Mumbaikars a late new year gift in the form of cooler nights.
