Rajasthan has remained dry from almost a week after which a few districts of the state had welcomed rains in the last 48 hours. In the last 24 hours also, a few stations recorded heavy rains which were rainier as compared with the last 48 hours.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Mount Abu recorded 173.2 mm of rains, Jalore 68 mm, Chittorgarh 66 mm, Udaipur 45 mm, Pali 38 mm, Barmer 22 mm, and Jodhpur witnessed 13.4 mm of rains.

Skymet Weather reiterates that the reason for these moderate to heavy rains which were the well-marked low-pressure area which was over West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining East Rajasthan.

Resulting which, rains are expected to continue lashing southwest Rajasthan adjacent to Gujarat for another 24 hours. Thus districts like Jhalore, Mount Abu, Chittorgarh, Barmer, Pratapgarh and Udaipur will continue to witness rains. While Jaipur, Ajmer, and Bundi will witness light rains only.
Thereafter, this system will fade away and rains will commence over central Rajasthan around July 17 and 18 due to the shifting of the trough towards Rajasthan.
As on July 14, West Rajasthan is 67% rainfall surplus while the rainfall status for East Rajasthan on the same date is near normal and is 1% surplus. With these rains, the rain status is expected to enhance.
