Even though Delhi witnessed the driest September and rains remained the lowest during this month in last one decade, there was no compromise on the comfort level. According to data available with Skymet, September 2015 was the least discomforting in comparison to Septembers observed in last 5 years in the national capital city.
High level of discomfort is usually experienced due to high intensity of humidity which is very common to September in Delhi. September is the least rainy month in the Monsoon season that extends from June to September. Usually hot and humid weather characterize September in Delhi where humidity goes as high as 90%.

However, this year, September made an exception. So even though this year, rains were the lowest and average maximum temperature was the highest in last 5 years in September, average humidity level remained the lowest at 77%. Prevalence of northwesterly winds added to the low levels of discomfort. Pleasant weather during morning and night provided the much needed relief from the warm days. The situation was dismal in 2010 when despite of good rainfall, September was highly discomforting for Delhiites due to high level of humidity.
