The saga of three digit rainfall began since the onset of Monsoon in India on June 8. More than 100 mm of rainfall have been witnessed in several parts of the country since then. Ratnagiri recorded a whopping 102 mm of rainfall way back on June 14. At that point of time, Monsoon had not even reached Ratnagiri.
Thereafter, three digit rainfall has been witnessed in several parts of the country almost everyday. However, on Tuesday more than 10 stations across the West Coast including Coastal Maharashtra have witnessed more than 100 mm of rainfall.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Agumbe recorded 216 mm of rain. Double century rainfall was scored by Honavar as well. In fact, on Tuesday we have seen the highest number of places receiving three digit rainfall this season.

Monsoon will remain active over the West Coast, particularly Konkan & Goa. Tomorrow, Mumbai could also see heavy rains.
