More rains to whip Ranchi, Ambikapur, temperatures to stay comfortable

During the past 24 hours, light to moderate rains occurred over the state of Chhattisgarh, whereas moderate to heavy rainfall was witnessed over Jharkhand.

For the duration of last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, Ranchi recorded rains to the tune of 33 mm, Daltonganj 23 mm, Bokaro 16 mm, Pendra 15 mm, Bilaspur 9 mm, Ambikapur 7 mm, Jagdalpur 6 mm, Raipur 5 mm and Jamshedpur 3 mm.

Present day, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Jharkhand. As a result, we can expect showers of light to moderate intensity to whip Jharkhand during the next 24 hours including cities like Ranchi, Dumka and Dhanbad. In fact, we can expect one or two heavy falls over the region as well.

In the meantime, northern parts of Chhattisgarh may witness few good spells of rain where Koriya, Ambikapur and Balrampur would observe the rain activity. On the contrary, districts like Bijapur, Bastar, and Dantewada in South Chhattisgarh may get isolated rains.

With the cloud cover and rainfall activities, the temperatures would too remain comfortable over most districts of Jharkhand as well as Chhattisgarh.

Maximum temperatures are most likely to range in the mid to high 20s. While minimums would settle in the lower 20s.

As on July 26, the state of Chhattisgarh stand rain surplus by 3%, whereas Jharkhand remained rain deficient by 27%.
