The hilly regions of Western Himalayas have been receiving good amounts of rainfall for last 48 hours. Many higher altitude regions including Kedarnath, Badrinath, Manali, Chambal were under alert of heavy rainfall and landslides and they still continue to be. During the last 24 hours also, scattered light to moderate rains occurred over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
As per Skymet Weather, these rains are due to the Western Disturbance which is persisting over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. This weather system is likely to give spells of heavy rains and thundershower over the Manali, Badrinath, Kedarnath, and Srinagar for the next two days.

Though rain intensity is expected to reduce from June 23 and weather will be clear up, but during the next 48 hours there are chances of landslides and water logging at the higher altitude hill stations. As this is the time of summer vacations, therefore, heavy tourist traffic is likely to head towards the tourist spots.
But it is advisable not to make plans for the next 3 days as the traffic and landslides may obstruct the enjoyment. Although the lower altitude spots like Dehradun, Rishikesh, Shimla are much safer options.
The coming weekend seems favorable for heading towards the hills for as the rains will reduce leading to pleasant weather conditions across the hills.
