Southern parts of Madhya Pradesh have been witnessing good rain and thundershowers for the last few days, with some places recording heavy spells on every other day. During the same time frame, northern parts remained almost dry and it was on rare occasions that isolated parts of the region witnessed light rain activity.
On June 16, it was Raisen which had recorded a whopping 71 mm of rain , while Guna received 28 mm.

Likewise, during the 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Nowgong recorded 30 mm of rainfall, Seoni 7 mm and Khajuraho 4 mm. There were other districts that witnessed very light rains too on Saturday.
According to weathermen at Skymet Weather, as the Southwest Monsoon is strengthening, thus more rains are likely to lash southern parts of Madhya Pradesh during 24 hours. Rain belt Monsoon will subsequently cover the northern districts of the state as well, resulting in good showers over the region as well.

Though no major weather system is presently seen near the state but the availability of moisture in the atmosphere may lead to local development of convective clouds over the region, leading to rain and thundershower activities.
Monsoon is likely to make onset over few parts of South Madhya Pradesh in span of next 3-4 days.
