More rains on the cards for Pune

October 11, 2016 12:34 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Good rains have once again made a comeback over Pune. During the last 24 hours, the city of Pune has recorded good showers of 27 mm. These rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which is over east-central Arabian Sea and South Konkan Coast.

Furthermore, this cyclonic circulation is expected to move towards Coastal Karnataka and adjoining areas hence leading to decrease in rain activity over Maharashtra including Pune. However, in the meantime South Konkan and Goa and most parts of Karnataka will continue to witness good rains.

October did start on a good note over Pune, but the city did not receive heavy showers, which is very much clear from the monthly mean which is 77.9 mm of rains. However, the current weather conditions are favorable for Pune to help surpass its monthly mean very soon.

As per Skymet Weather, after 24-48 hours, rains will decrease over Pune significantly and one or two short spells will continue over the region for next 2-3 days. Dry weather conditions are likely to prevail over the region with almost clear sky, however, few patches of clouds may prevail.

Days will be warm and sunny with maximum temperatures hovering around 31 degrees Celsius and minimums around 21 degrees Celsius.
