Madhya Pradesh had not been witnessing good amount of rainfall activities in the month of October. However, the last 24 hours were different and a few places over the state witnessed first rain spells post Monsoon season.

Accordingly, the southern parts of Madhya Pradesh witnessed light to moderate rains. During the same time period, the entire state of Chhattisgarh has been witnessing good rain and thundershower activities.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Pendra recorded moderate rainfall of 24 mm, Durg 15 mm, Ambikapur and Bilaspur 14 mm, Rajnandgaon 10.2 mm, Jabalpur 9.4 mm, Satna 9 mm, Umaria 4 mm and Jagdalpur 3.5 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen over North Coastal Odisha. Another cyclonic circulation is over North Telangana. A trough is also extending from North Bay of Bengal up to east central Arabian Sea. In addition, humid east-southeasterly winds are further likely to blow over the region.

Due to these weather features, scattered moderate rain and thundershower activities will occur over southeastern districts of Madhya Pradesh and southern parts of Chhattisgarh during the next 24 to 48 hours.

Plus, scattered light rains are expected over northern parts of Chhattisgarh and eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh as well.

In the meantime, maximums are expected to remain around 33-35 degree Celsius. Whereas, the minimum temperatures will be settling around 24-26 degree Celsius.

Hence, the afternoons are expected to be warm and humid along with cloudy sky to prevail over these states. Whereas the mornings and night are likely to remain comfortable.
