In contrast with the other districts of West Bengal, rains have remained pretty unfortunate for Kolkata which has not seen rains from last 4-5 days. Though the city recorded few on and off light rain traces spanning from May 11 until May 17 but since thereafter, rains have not blessed the city.

As per Skymet Weather, the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal has been recording rains but Gangetic West Bengal along with Kolkata has mainly remained arid in the month of May. Districts like Coochbehar and Malda had received light rains of 13.2 and 2 mm respectively in the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday. But rains spared the ‘city of joy’. However, at present, the city is relishing a partly cloudy weather.

A feeble cyclonic circulation is likely to form over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining Assam. Hence, rains are likely to show up today and tomorrow in parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal region but Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata is likely to remain dry. However, the city will be enveloped under the partly cloudy sky. But, since this is the pre-Monsoon season, any isolated rain activities cannot be completely ruled out.

Temperatures across Kolkata will remain warm and humid in the range of 36°C to 37°C. The minimums are also expected to stay settle between 29°C and 30°C. With this , the night will also remain comparatively warmer and hence, no relief is anticipated during the night hours as well.
