These weather conditions persisting over the state of Tamil Nadu can be attributed to the presence of an off shore trough which is running in proximity of Chennai and its adjoining areas due to which moisture incursion has been taking place resulting in rains over the region.
Due to this, more rains are expected to lash more parts of Chennai as well as Tamil Nadu. In fact, rainfall activity is expected to continue over the entire state for at least another 24 hours.
