The entire state of Maharashtra has been witnessing good rains even during the post Monsoon season. In fact, the coastal areas of this state have been observing isolated heavy spells as well. Meanwhile the other regions have been witnessing light to moderate rain and thundershowers. Likewise, the last 24 hours were no different and several districts of Maharashtra continued to witness good rainfall activity.
Within a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Colaba observatory in Mumbai recorded heavy rainfall of 54 mm, followed by Udgir 37 mm, Parbhani 27.2 mm, Solapur 25 mm, Yeotmal 22.2 mm, Thane 22 mm, Mumbai (Santacruz) 17 mm, Osmanabad 16.4 mm, Nashik 16 mm, Malegaon 15 mm, Dahanu 14 mm, Satara 13 mm, Alibag 11.4 mm, Aurangabad 11 mm, Wardha 10 mm, Chandrapur 7.3 mm, Pune 7 mm, Gondia 5.4 mm, Bhira 5 mm, Nagpur 4 mm, Buldhana 3 mm, Mahabaleshwar 2 mm, Sangli 1.5 mm and Ratnagiri 1 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen over southern parts of Odisha and adjoining regions. An upper air trough is also seen extending from this system up to Coastal Karnataka.
Simultaneously, a trough of the low can be marked along the Konkan & Goa Coast at mean sea level. Further, as the above mentioned cyclonic circulation over Odisha is likely to move towards west.
In wake of these weather systems, light to moderate rain and thundershower activities are expected to continue over Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan & Goa region during the next 24 hours.
Thereafter, the intensity of these rains is likely to further increase in the coming few days over the entire state. However, talking about Marathwada, the intensity over this region is expected to be lesser compared to other regions.
In the meantime, places such as Pune, Mumbai, Satara, Sangli, Nagpur, Nashik, Ratnagiri, Solapur, Chandrapur, Kolhapur, Gondia, Wardha, Yeotmal and Thane will continue to witness light to moderate rains during the next 24 hours.

Moreover, maximums are expected to remain around 30-32 degrees Celsius. While the minimum temperatures are likely to range between 19-21 degrees Celsius. With this, the entire state will experience cool and pleasant weather conditions during this period.
