More rains in offing for Coastal and Interior Odisha

The state of Odisha has been witnessing some amount of rainfall activity even after the end of the Southwest Monsoon season. In fact, the region has been witnessing good showers for the past two days. So much so that the last 24 hours were also not too different and the state did record some good showers.

In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Paradip recorded a whopping 59 mm of rain, Puri witnessed 41 mm of rainfall, Chandbali 36 mm, Goaplpur 28 mm, Bhubaneswar 6 mm, Jharsuguda 8 mm, and Cuttack 1 mm.

These rainfall activities have been attributed to the presence of a cyclonic circulation over eastcentral Bay of Bengal. This system is expected to intensify into a low-pressure area during the next 48 hours and will be stationed over North Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha Coast.

Along with this, another cyclonic circulation is over Telangana. A trough is also extending between these two cyclonic circulations. Due to these weather features, good rains will continue over coastal parts of Odisha.

In fact, after giving rains over the coastal parts, interior areas will also receive some good rains. These rainfall activities are expected to continue for some time. Due to these rains, temperatures will also witness a drop resulting in comfortable weather conditions.
