Heatwave conditions continue to prevail over most parts of Vidarbha. However, the conditions are better in parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Konkan division. In fact, parts of Madhya Maharashtra saw a drop in the maximums by 2-3 degrees.
This drop in the temperature can be related to the scattered rains that occurred over South Konkan and South Madhya Maharashtra.
However, the temperatures over most parts of Vidarbha soared to settle near the 47-degree mark. On Tuesday, Chandrapur recorded the maximum temperatures at a sizzling 47.8ºC, Bramhapuri 47ºC, Wardha 47ºC, and Nagpur witnessed the daytime high at 46.7ºC.

Meanwhile, few other locations of Vidarbha reeled under heatwave like conditions with Gondia recording the temperatures at 44.7ºC, and Yeotmal witnessed the maximum temperature at 44.5ºC.
As per Skymet Weather, as of now, a trough is running from Chhattisgarh to Karnataka across Vidarbha and Marathwada. In the wake of this, scattered rains are likely to continue over some parts of South Madhya Maharashtra and a few parts of South Konkan region.
In fact, the pre-Monsoon rains would also commence over parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada as well. In the wake of these rains, the temperatures would reduce marginally over Vidarbha and the adjoining areas, resulting in the abatement of heatwave conditions from most parts of Vidarbha.
These rains would mainly occur in districts like Chandrapur, Nagpur, Solapur, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri, Sangli, Satara, and Osmanabad. On the contrary, parts of North Konkan and North Madhya Maharashtra like Mumbai, Pune, and Nashik would continue to remain dry.
