The state of Maharashtra has been seeing some good rains. In the last 24 hours also, Nagpur recorded 21 mm of rains, Jeur 60 mm, Wardha 25 mm, Buldana 21 mm, and Nashik 31 mm.
More rains are expected but showers will mostly be seen over Madhya Maharashtra, followed by Marathwada, and least rains are likely over Vidarbha. These rains will continue until October 21.
Showers will be seen right from north to south stretch of Madhya Maharashtra including Dhule, Nashik, Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur, Sholapur, Pune, Ahmednagar, Nandurbar etc. will see rains. Scattered showers can be seen over Marathwada and Vidarbha will see isolated rains only.
The reason for these rains are due to multiple features including a Cyclonic Circulation, which is over Arabian Sea off Konkan Coast but is moving away. However, a north south trough is running from Kerala Coast up to Konkan region, which will cause rain activities on the lee side of the Ghats.
This will quickly be followed by the withdrawal of Monsoon from almost entire state of Maharashtra, making it the last spell of Monsoon this year for Maharashtra.
