In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Tuesday, Bareilly recorded rain to the tune of 5 mm, Bahraich 4 mm, Meerut 3 mm, Gorakhpur and Fursatganj 2 mm and Agra 1 mm.
Due to these rains, the ongoing moderate to dense fog over most parts of the state has abated. The day temperatures over the eastern parts were already low due to persistent fog. Moreover, due to scattered rains, the day temperatures dropped further in West Uttar Pradesh.

As per Skymet Weather, the induced cyclonic circulation which was over Haryana and adjoining areas has become insignificant but a trough is still extending over the foothills of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Therefore, we expect isolated light rain over Northeast and the foothills Uttar Pradesh and Bihar today. Places such as Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Sitamarhi, Supaul, and Kishanganj are expected to record rainfall activity.
However, as the rains will be confined until today only, the weather will become dry tomorrow onward. The day temperatures will once again start rising in both the states. We also do not expect fog to reappear immediately.
Therefore, the cold day conditions which were persisting over Bihar would abate now. The minimums may also fall by 2°C to 3°C in the next two to three days and the maximums are likely to increase gradually. The weather will become sunny and pleasant during the day but the night will be cold.
