Moderate to heavy rains were seen in parts of Madhya <aharashtra in the last 24 hours wherein Nashik recorded 67 mm of rains. Usually, lee side of the ghats do not see rains including cities of Nashik, Pune, Jalgaon, Dhule, Ahmednagar etc.
However, in typical situations, Madhya Maharashtra which is a north-south-oriented sub division gets weather activity. This has been such a case with rains.
For Nashik, this is the second heaviest spell this season. Nashik's average is at 131.5 mm, and more than half of it has been seen in just 24 hours. Other parts including Satara 58 mm, Ahmednagar 26 mm, Solapur 21 mm, saw some rains.
Now, a Cyclonic Circulation is over northern parts of Kerala and adjoining South Karnataka with a trough extending northward running across Madhya Maharashtra. Thus, more rains are expected over Madhya Maharashtra in the next 24 hours as well including Pune, Nandurbar, Dhule, Nashik, Sangli, Satara, Ahmednagar etc. may see some good rains
Rains may reduce slightly thereafter and slow down around day after tomorrow.
