Pre-Monsoon rains begin Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh
As predicted by Skymet Weather, rain and thundershowers have started lashing parts of Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow has already reported light rains along with lightening over the few parts of the city.
With increase in mercury and available moisture in the air, convective clouds had developed over the region during the late afternoon, leading to the weather activity over the region.
At present also, intense clouding can be seen over several areas. Weathermen predict that rains to cover other areas very soon that include Farrukhabad, Hardoi, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur and Unnao districts during next 6 hours.
We can also expect squally winds with the speed of 30 kmph to 40 kmph over the region.
Almost entire India is presently witnessing the infamous notorious weather pattern. After witnessing dry and warm weather during the fag end of February, the month of March has kick-started with good rainy spells for North India.
In fact, from the last two to three days, rain and thundershowers have been lashing parts of northern plains including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. In the last 24 hours, Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, and Saharanpur have also observed rains along with hailstorms.
At present, also, rains along with squally winds are going on in Hardoi, Bareilly, Bijapur, Meerut, and Muzaffarnagar. You can check out the live status of lightning and thundering in Uttar Pradesh here.
Since this is the agriculture belt of the country, these rains and hailstorms have caused damage to the standing wheat crop just before the harvesting season. In fact, wheat crops have been destroyed in the recent past.
The reason for these rains and hailstorm activities in parts of Uttar Pradesh can be attributed to the induced cyclonic circulation which was over Haryana and Punjab. Besides this, a trough from this system is also extending from this system up to West Uttar Pradesh.
However, as per Skymet Weather now, this weather system has moved over Northeast Delhi. This will lead to decrease in rain and thundershower activities over parts of Uttar Pradesh in the next 24 hours. Thereafter, Uttar Pradesh will brace for a clear weather coming up with a gradual rise in temperature.
