More rains for Kerala, heavier showers in parts

The state of Kerala for the last three days has been seeing good rains with some heavy to very heavy showers being observed over Kerala, specifically, the southern parts.

Heavier rains will now shift to the central parts including Kochi, Thrissur and adjoining areas. Rainfall will be heavier over these areas but showers will still be seen in other parts of the state as well.

Some parts of the state may see flooding rains in the next couple of days as well. The reason for these rains is the Trough, which is running across South peninsula from Rayalaseema to the Comorin region. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation is over the Bay of Bengal and is persisting over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining region.

The state of Kerala is the only deficit state in the southern region while others remain surplus. These showers in the past couple of days have made a difference, and the deficiency may drop below 20 percent with more showers in the state.
