Most parts of Gujarat are likely to have light to moderate monsoon showers in the remaining days of this month. Intensity and spread may well be mild but some parts will observe sharp showers. Interiors and South Coastal Gujarat stand a better chance of moderate showers before the process of withdrawal starts sometime in the first week of October.
There is no major weather system visiting the state as such but offshoots of monsoon perturbations over some other parts may trigger clinching showers along the coastal stations and central Gujarat. These welcome showers are likely between 23rd and 28th September. Saurashtra and South Gujarat have received rainfall in the past 24 hours and light weather activity may continue today as well.
A feeble cyclonic circulation is coming up over central Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan. Moist winds may converge from the Arabian Sea over the coastline and travel inland, more so for central Gujarat. Later, an in-situ circulation over Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, in the vicinity of the state may also trigger fleeting showers, with short and intermittent spells.
The capital city Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Baroda, and Anand may receive a few showers tomorrow. Similar activity may reach stations like Palanpur, Mehsana, Patan, Deesa and neighbouring areas. The intensity and spread of weather activity will be far less than the one experienced during the last weekend. These rains are unlikely to hamper the common man's routine. No disruption of traffic and waterlogging is expected during this period.
