More rains coming up for Alappuzha, Kochi, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram

It has been a rainy month for the state of Kerala. So much so that the state has witnessed 25 percent of excess rains so far in this month. Kerala has seen 167.9 mm of rains against 133.9 mm of rainfall.

The last 24 hours were also rainy enough for the state with some areas recording heavy rains as well. The spread and intensity of rainfall has varied throughout the state with coastal parts observing more rainfall than the others.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Alappuzha recorded a whopping 61 mm of rains, Kochi saw 20 mm of rains. Meanwhile, Karipur and Thrissur saw light rains to the tune of 1 mm. Not only this, traces of rain were also seen over Punalur.

These rains have been attributed to the presence of a Cyclonic Circulation which is over Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep region.

Now also, the state of Kerala is expected to continue receiving rainfall activities during the next few days for now. In fact, cities of Punalur, Karipur, Thrissur, Alappuzha, Kochi, Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram will see good rains.

Moreover, this rainy spell is expected to continue for a long time which will result in the rain stats to increase even further for the state of Kerala.
