The city of Bengaluru has seen some heavy to very heavy spells of rains in the last 24 hours, resulting in waterlogging in many parts of the city. In fact, during the last 24 hours Bengaluru recorded 131.6 mm rainfall which happens to be the highest 24-hour rainfall in September in the last seven years and the second highest this decade.
In fact, the highest rains of the decade stands at 132.3 mm, seen in September 2014. The month of September for Bengaluru, it is the intermittent period of Southwest Monsoon withdrawal and Northeast Monsoon arrival.
As per data, the monthly mean of Bengaluru is at 208 mm, and so far the city has seen 175 mm of rains, Today, moderate rains are likely and between September 6 and 9.
These rains are attributed to two systems, one is a Circulation lying over Comorin and adjoining areas. Another Cyclonic Circulation is over Coastal Tamil Nadu, due to which rains will be seen over the city of Bengaluru until September 9.
