Up until March 16, the weather over most parts of hills of North India showed an erratic behavior. With scattered rain and thundershower that continued over hills turned its usual pattern post March 17 onward. Though isolated rain occurred over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh but weather remained largely dry over hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir.
But weather gods have something more in store for the region. Another fresh Western Disturbance is approaching and at present it is seen over North Pakistan. And by tomorrow, we expect clouds to increase over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
By evening or night scattered light rain and thundershower will resume which will increase gradually and continue till March 23. Post March 23, the Western Disturbance will move away eastwards and weather will go dry again. Temperatures are also likely to increase gradually as this Western Disturbance seems to be strong. Higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may receive some snowfall activity.
At present, the higher regions of the hilly parts are experiencing a maximum temperatures of around 15-16°C, whereas the minimum temperatures are around 0°C. People holidaying in the higher reaches will be enjoying due to sporadic snowfall is making the region enjoyable and travel worthy.
