For the past few days, North Indian Plains, particularly Uttar Pradesh were observing hot and dry weather conditions.
Rains remained absent from the region as no significant weather system affected the state.
Both maximum and minimum temperatures were on the higher side resulting in uncomfortable weather conditions over several cities in the state.
However, now rain is in the offing for both West and East Uttar Pradesh.
Presently, a trough can be seen extending up to West Uttar Pradesh. Due to this trough, isolated rainfall activity has already been observed over the western areas of the state.
For instance, during the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Hardoi recorded 0.2 mm of rain. Also, a trace of rain was observed over several areas including Agra, Aligarh, Bareilly, and Moradabad.
Now, the trough is moving in an eastward direction over East Uttar Pradesh extending up to Madhya Pradesh. This shift will result in some rainfall activity over several areas of the eastern parts of the state.
These rains will also lead to a marginal drop in both maximum and minimum temperatures.
