While South India has been reeling under hot and humid weather conditions, East, Central and Northwest India are being lashed by rains.
Widespread rain has already occurred over Northwest Plains. Scattered rain has also been observed in parts of East and Central India.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Satna recorded 11 mm of rainfall, Bhopal 1 mm, Pendra Road 2 mm, Ranchi 1 mm, Balasore 1 mm, and Fursatganj 6 mm.
An induced cyclonic circulation is over North Rajasthan and adjoining Punjab and Haryana. Also, a trough of this system is extending up to Jharkhand. A confluence zone can also be seen extending from Vidarbha up to Odisha.
These systems together have been giving rain over both Central and East India. Now, during the next 24 hours, rainfall intensity will increase over the region.
Some rainfall has been recorded over parts of Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Odisha during the last 24 hours. Now, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh will also receive good showers. Squally winds will also blow over the region.
These rains are the first good showers during the entire winter season. Strong winds may damage some Rabi crops as well. Rainfall activity will continue for another 48 hours, after that, the weather will clear up.
