More Rain in Keongjhargarh, Jharsuguda, Baripada, Angul and Bhadrak

The entire state of Odisha has been witnessing light to moderate rain and thundershower activities accompanied with strong gusty winds and lightning strike since the last 24 hours. Some of the places have even recorded heavy rain showers.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Keongjhargarh recorded 22 mm of rain, followed by Baripada 17 mm, Jharsuguda 14 mm, Angul 2 mm and Balasore 0.3 mm.

These rains occurred in association with a confluence zone extending from Odisha to Arabian Sea across Telangana and Karnataka. As this weather system is expected to persist for another 24 hours, most parts of the state will receive rain and thundershower activity today.

The northern parts of the state including districts such as Jharsuguda, Baripada, Angul, Sambalpur and Bhadrak will witness moderate rain and thundershowers. The rainfall activity is expected to continue for another 72 hours.

Isolated rain and thundershowers are likely over the southern districts of Odisha such as Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati and Titlagarh as well.

In the wake of these continuous rains, we expect day to remain comfortable for the next 48 hours, with drop in rising maximums .
