Even as repair work is underway in Vaishno Devi after a landslide took place on Sunday, another spell of rain is approaching the shrine and nearby areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The route to Vaishno Devi shrine had been diverted during the past few days which may remain diverted for another couple of days.
Another round of rain and snow is expected over hilly states of India as Western Disturbance is approaching the area. The weather system will begin to influence weather of Jammu and Kashmir by tomorrow followed by rain in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Rain activity is likely to remain active till March 19 over the hills and plains of North India.
During this period, light rain along with occasional spell of moderate rain is possible in Vaishno Devi. Rain is likely to begin post afternoon on March 17 and is expected to continue till March 19.
Light rain is likely to cause slippery roads over the area hampering the yatra for sometime.
