During the last 24 hours, many parts of Rajasthan like Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Barmer have observed dust storm as well as thundershower activities. The northern parts such as Hanumangarh, Ganganagar and Churu also observed similar activities.
These pre-monsoon activities were due to an induced Cyclonic Circulation which was over western parts of Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan since the last two days. We now expect these weather activities to gain intensity in the coming days. Many more parts of the state will start receiving violent thunderstorm and rain activities. This weather is expected to continue until May 15.

Relief from heat wave
Due to these weather activities, temperatures have already gone down. Many areas of Rajasthan which were earlier reeling under heat wave conditions, are now witnessing temperatures below 40 degrees. A few exceptional pockets are still experiencing above 40 temperatures. However, in the coming days, the temperatures will fall further, leading to more comfortable weather conditions.
Now also we expect these intermittent pre-Monsoon activities to continue during afternoon and evening hours, making the weather pleasant.
The intensity of these rains might be severe accompanied with lightning over a few isolated pockets, which might create some hazard to life and property. People are advised to stay safe and not to venture out during such episodes.
