Ever since the year 2017 has begun, the hills of North India have regularly been receiving a snowy surprise. It seems like both the rain as well as the snow gods have decided to compensate for last year’s lack of heavy snowfall.
So much so that popular hill stations of North India have been receiving good rains and snow. In fact, the most popular holy shrine of North India, Vaishno Devi which is nestled in the hills of Jammu and Kashmir has also been receiving quite a snowy treatment.
Around January 17, Vaishno Devi temple and the route was covered with a blanket of fresh snow. While the snowfall had wreaked havoc over the residents of Jammu and Kashmir, it was a cherry on the cake for the pilgrims visiting the shrine.
Now, a fresh Western Disturbance is approaching the Western Himalayas on January 22 which is expected to give snowfall over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Himachal Pradesh. During this period, Vaishno Devi is also expected to receive some rains.
