As predicted by Skymet Weather, heavy rains have occurred over parts of Rayalaseema in Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours. In fact, these rains were much needed, as the state was continuously reeling under dry weather conditions since a very long time.
The major reason for these rains can be attributed to the Cyclonic Circulation, present over South interior Karnataka and adjoining area. Plus, a Trough is extending from eastern parts of Bihar up to Comorin area across coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.
With these prominent weather systems, we expect rain intensity to gradually increase over the state, particularly over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next 24 to 48 hours.

Thus, rain and thundershower activities will occur with moderate intensity over Rayalaseema. Isolated heavy spells cannot be ruled out. Moreover, parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh such as Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam stand a chance to receive few spells of light to moderate rain.
These pre Monsoon activities will continue with high intensity for next two days. Thereafter, on and off rain and thundershower activities will continue in many parts of Rayalaseema.
In wake of all these activities, temperatures will drop down and heat wave would subside to some extent, thereby bring a major relief for the residents.
