More rains, thunderstorm to lash Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand

Parts of East India has been witnessing pre-Monsoon rains and thundershowers for the last few days. All thanks to the cyclonic circulation prevailing over East Bihar and adjoining areas and a trough extending from the system till Coastal Odisha.

In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Purnea recorded 38 mm of rain, Supaul 5 mm, Ranchi 2 mm, Ghazipur 1 mm and Tuni 1 mm.

Now also, weather conditions remain conducive for the pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers to continue across parts of Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand along with Sikkim during the next 3-4 days. Region could also witness lightning strikes and thunderstorm as well.

Kolkata too stands a chance of witnessing some rain and thundershowers during this period. In fact, parts of Bihar have been witnessing cloudy weather since morning hours only.

Weathermen predict that the cyclonic circulation will continue to affect the region for the next few days. According to Skymet Weather, intensity of rains would be more over East Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

In wake of ongoing rainy spell, maximum temperatures have been settling within the range. We expect similar weather conditions to continue for at least one week over the eastern parts of the country.
