As per Skymet Weather, the weather conditions are still fortunate for more rain and thunderstorms. These showers can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh. A trough is also extending from this system up to South Tamil Nadu. With the presence of these systems, moisture incursion is available over the region. Moreover, hot weather and high temperature during the afternoon leads to formation of convective clouds over the city during the late afternoon or evening. This is the typical feature of pre-Monsoon season.
Thus, moderate rain and thundershowers with gusty winds are expected during afternoon or evening hours today as well as tomorrow.
So far in May, the city has recorded 76.4 mm of rainfall against the normal average rainfall of 107.4 mm. With few more days still left, we can hope the city to surpass its monthly mean.
