More Monsoon rains to lash Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Balasore, Angul

Under the impact of a cyclonic circulation over north coastal parts of Odisha in mid-levels, light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells occurred over the region during the past 24 hours.

At this juncture the rain activity recorded from 08:30 am on Monday, Balasore recorded a good of 120 mm, whereas other cities like Puri saw 26 mm, Angul 23 mm, Keonjhargarh 22 mm, Bhubaneswar 19 mm, Paradip 16 mm, Cuttack 13 mm, Chandbali 11 mm, Titlagrah 9 mm, Dhenkanal 7 mm, Bhabanipatna 6 mm and Pulbani 5 mm.

The weatherman at Skymet Weather expects light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells over north and coastal parts of Odisha like Balasore, Cuttack, Keonjhargarh Angul, Paradip, Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda during the next 24 to 48 hours.

Afterward, the intensity of rain is most likely to decrease, but then scattered light to moderate rain may endure.

The weather conditions are not expected to go dry as on and off showers would continue over many parts of the state for the next one week.

As a result, the state as a whole would witness pleasant weather, with little warm days and temperatures in 28-32°C. Likewise, nights would be pleasant with temperatures around 22-26°C.

As on July 30, the state of Odisha stands rain surplus by 6%.
