More Monsoon rains to lash Bhopal, Indore, Satna, Sidhi

Southwest Monsoon has stayed dynamic for the last numerous days for the central part of the country particularly for Madhya Pradesh. Even though, rain was more obvious in the southern parts of the state as conversely with the northern locale of Madhya Pradesh. As of now also, rains are foreseen for parts of Madhya Pradesh for another 2-3 days.

In the last 24 hours also, many parts of the state mainly the eastern region of Madhya Pradesh have recorded light to moderate rains. However, in comparison with the last 48 hour’s rains, the rainfall intensity in the last 24 hours was lesser.

In the span of 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Chhindwara recorded 46 mm of rains, Malanjkhand 27 mm, Sidhi 14 mm, Rewa 8 mm, Umaria 7 mm, and Satna observed 3 mm of rainy spells.

Regardless of these rains, as on September 19, both the districts of Madhya Pradesh are rainfall deficient. The rainfall deficiency for East Madhya Pradesh stands at 28% while for West Madhya Pradesh the deficiency is 19%.

As per Skymet Weather, yesterday’s Low-Pressure Area now lies over North Chhattisgarh and the adjoining region. Moreover, an associated cyclonic circulation is also seen extending up to upper tropospheric level. Additionally, the axis of Monsoon trough is also passing through this system. The combination of all these weather systems gave rains over the state of Madhya Pradesh.

However, now the cyclonic circulation is likely to shift towards the west resulting in enhancing rains over the state. Mainly the districts in East and South Madhya Pradesh may witness moderate rains with a few heavy spells. Thus, the regions such as Umaria, Mandla, Jabalpur, Satna, Sidhi, Chhindwara, Khandwa, and Hoshangabad will witness moderate rains today.

The rainfall activity is anticipated to increase towards the central and southwestern districts of Madhya Pradesh such as over Bhopal, Indore, and Seoni. Moderate spells will occur over North Madhya Pradesh in stations such as Gwalior, Guna, and Datia as well.

These rains may trigger flood like situation in many parts of the state. Though the mercury levels will witness a significant drop by 2-3 degrees. Overcast sky will prevail.
