The state of Telangana has been receiving good rain and thundershowers since the last many days. In fact, moderate spells were also witnessed by Coastal Andhra Pradesh, but then Rayalaseema continued to remain more or less dry, with only erratic light spells.
In the course of 24 hours, Ramagundam reported rains to the tune of 19 mm, Nizamabad 18 mm, Vijayawada 7 mm, Machilipatnam 4 mm, Hanamkonda 3 mm, Kakinada 2, Nellore 2 mm and Hyderabad 2 mm.

Now, a cyclonic circulation is seen over North Coastal Odisha in the lower levels. This system is slanting southwards with elevation, therefore we can expect moderate to heavy rains over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the next two to three days.
Along the coastline of Andhra Pradesh, the northern parts such as Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Kakinada would see more intense showers in comparison to southern districts.
Similar rain activity is possible to lash the state of Telangana, where moderate to heavy showers are likely over Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Warangal, while Mahbubnagar, Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda and Hyderabad will settle with light to moderate showers.
After the span of three days, we are expecting the rain belt to move over Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh. In wake of this, the intensity of showers over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh would reduce considerably, however scattered showers cannot be ruled out thereafter also.
As of July 13, Telangana as well as Coastal Andhra Pradesh stands rain surplus by 30% and 23%, respectively. While Rayalaseema remains rain deficient by 8%.
