More Monsoon rains in the offing for Jharkhand and Bihar

The state of Jharkhand and Bihar have been receiving good rains in the month of July. So much so that heavy rains have been recorded over both these state during the past 48 hours. Several areas in Jharkhand have received more than 50 mm rains.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Jamshedpur recorded a whopping 82 mm of rainfall, Ranchi 57 mm, Daltonganj 20 mm, Purnea 14 mm and Bhagalpur 11 mm. In fact a day before also, both Jameshedpur and Gaya had witnessed three digit rains.

These rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation, which is currently over Jharkhand and adjoining Chhattisgarh. Also, the axis of Monsoon trough which is also in close proximity with the state has been adding to the good rains over both these states.

Now, during the next 24 to 48 hours, good rains are likely to continue over both Bihar and Jharkhand as the weather features are likely to persist.

Currently, the rainfall deficiency for both Bihar and Jharkhand have slightly improved and stand at 22 and 16 percent. Now, with more rains in the offing for both these states, rainfall deficiency will further improve.
