The northwestern plains of India are recording Monsoon rains of varying intensity for the last 2-3 days. The intensity was more over Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh are recording moderate to heavy rains during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, parts of Haryana and North Rajasthan have been witnessing scattered rainfall activity only. In fact, Delhi rains also made a comeback after the arrival of Monsoon on June 29.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Ludhiana recorded heavy rains to the tune of 77 mm, Patiala 43 mm, Ambala 43.1 mm, Moradabad 42.4 mm, Faridabad 41 mm, Karnal 7 mm, Agra 6 mm, Meerut 5.4 mm, Bharatpur 13.1 mm.
In the same span of time, Palam observatory in Delhi has recorded 36.2 mm of rain and Safdarjung 25 mm of rains.
These rains have been occurring in wake of the axis of Monsoon trough which has shifted along the foothills of Himalayas. As per Skymet Weather, Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh are likely to record moderate to heavy Monsoon rains. Meanwhile, rain in Haryana will be light to moderate. In fact, Delhi and North Rajasthan is also anticipated to witness scattered rainfall activity.
Places such as Chandigarh, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Ambala, Karnal, Moradabad, Bareilly, Pillibhit, Najibabad, Alwar, Sikar and Jhunjhunu are expected to witness good Monsoon rains.
Due to cloudy sky and rains, the weather will remain comfortable across the northwestern plains including Delhi. The maximum and minimum temperatures will also settle below normal.
