As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over south coastal Gujarat. Thereafter, rains would reduce over North Konkan but will continue over parts of South Konkan region.

Moderate to heavy showers are also expected to occur over Vidarbha, which would be due to the presence of a well-marked low-pressure area over coastal Odisha. This weather system is expected to move inland towards west, leading to an increase in rain activities over Vidarbha.

However, Marathwada would continue to get subdued rains but the weather will not be absolutely dry as light rains would still continue.

At this stage, let us see the impact of this weather on the agriculture belt of Maharashtra:

In the wake of heavy rains, farmers are advised to transplant rice as early as possible. Farmers should also remove excess water from the field and maintain the optimum water level in the rice field.

Farmers are also advised to prepare water channels to drain out excess water from coconut and arecanut. In Vidarbha, before sowing pigeon pea, groundnut, and Soybean, seeds should be treated with crop-specific Rhizobium culture and Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria. In Marathwada, farmers are advised to control the attack of leaf-eating caterpillar in the Soybean crop.
