According to Skymet Weather, the rain belt is shifting gradually towards north as the prevailing trough is also oscillating northwards. Presently, it is running from Northeast Rajasthan to Bay of Bengal across South Uttar Pradesh.
Thus, we expect moderate rains with one or two heavy spells over many parts of Madhya Pradesh, especially over West and Central for the next 24 hours. Thereafter, northern parts of Madhya Pradesh will also start recording rains for subsequent 24 hours.
We expect rains to reduce gradually after 48 hours. Due to significant decrease in rain activities, weather will become sultry and temperatures may rise gradually. But with lots of moisture available in atmosphere, on and off rains will continue but with reduced intensity.
As on June 2, West Madhya Pradesh is rain surplus by 6%, while East Madhya Pradesh is rain deficit by 5%.
