The good spells were in view of a recent well marked low pressure area that travelled from west central Bay of Bengal to North Madhya Pradesh giving moderate to heavy showers over Chhattisgarh with scattered activity over Telangana.

Now, another low pressure area is likely to form over west central Bay of Bengal off South Odisha Coast. This weather system will too move inland in northwest direction. So, we can expect light to moderate rains over northern districts of Telangana and many parts of Chhattisgarh during the next two to three days. In fact, Chhattisgarh is expected to observe few heavy to very heavy spells as well.

During this phase, places such as Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg and Rajnandgaon would see the rain activity.

Consequently, the rain surplus of both the states will increase further. These rains will again recede from July 23 onward over Telangana and Chhattisgarh, nonetheless scattered light rains will continue thereafter also. Meanwhile, the city of pearls, Hyderabad may also see some spells.

Till now, the state of Chhattisgarh has received normal rains to the tune of 1%. Comparatively, Telangana has witnessed excess rainfall by 27%.
