Now, the cyclonic circulation over West Bihar and adjoining area is most likely to induce a low-pressure area over the same region during the next 48 hours. In addition to this, the axis of Monsoon trough is also passing through the state of West Bengal.
As a result, we can expect light to moderate rain along with few heavy spells over West Bengal during the next few days. The intensity of shower would be more over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and central districts of the state where Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and Kalimpong could be lashed by heavy rains.
Meanwhile, scattered light to moderate rains over Gangetic West Bengal cannot be ruled out where Kolkata, Midnapore and Diamond Harbour would see the weather activities.
Consequently, the following two to three days are likely to be pretty good for West Bengal in terms of rainfall.
As on July 29, the state of West Bengal stands rain deficit by 19%. Accordingly, the forthcoming rainy showers would push down the deficiency to some level.
