After making an early onset, good Monsoon conditions persisted over both, Punjab as well as Haryana.
In fact, the month of June was pretty good in terms of rainfall activities, Punjab received ample amount of rains by 102%, and Haryana saw excess rains by 41%.

Good rain and thundershowers endured over Punjab and Haryana in July as well. Even as of today, Punjab stands rain surplus by 6%, but relatively less than June. Correspondingly, Haryana received normal rains but lay behind by minus 12%.
During the past 24 hours, both the states saw fairly widespread rain and thundershowers accompanied with isolated heavy falls, where Anantpur Sahib recorded hefty showers to the tune of 105 mm, followed by Karnal 69 mm, Kurukshetra 66 mm, Pathankot 65 mm, Ludhiana 55 mm, Amritsar 44 mm, Rohtak 42 mm and Patiala 31 mm.
All thanks to the manifold weather features in the vicinity of the region, a low-pressure area over Southwest Uttar Pradesh and adjoining North Madhya Pradesh and a Western Disturbance over Pakistan and adjacent Jammu and Kashmir.
Thus, the north-south belt of rains from the low pressure is moving northwards across Delhi, Haryana up to Punjab. Moreover, the axis of the Monsoon trough is in close proximity of the region.
In view of this, similar weather conditions are expected to continue, i.e., fairly widespread rain and thundershowers escorted with isolated heavy falls over both the states during the next 24 hours. After about 48 hours, the rainfall activities are most likely to go subdued.
For now, the cloudy skies and rainfall will keep the temperatures comfortable leading contented weather conditions for the period of the next few days.
