Chhattisgarh Rains

In the southern parts of Chhattisgarh lay the city of Jagdalpur, and in the last day or two, this city has witnessed some heavy downpour. The city recorded 59 mm of rains in the last 21 hours.

These rains over the region can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which is at present over West-central Bay of Bengal. This cyclonic circulation is expected to become a low pressure system any time now.

It is because of this weather system good rains have been going on across Chhattisgarh especially South Chhattisgarh. These rains are moderate in nature and are expected to continue for the next 24-48 hours.

Since last many days, back to back cyclonic circulation and low pressure systems have been forming over Bay of Bengal which has given enough rains over various places in East Coast.

At present the state of Chhattisgarh is rainfall deficient by 7% but with the good and hefty rain going on and will go on for next 24-48 hours, this rainfall figure will move close to normal, or even move to surplus rainfall.

The normal rainfall for the city of Jagdalpur is 199.7 mm for the month of September. And with the good rain going on, the monthly mean will be surpassed in the next 2-3 days.
