The city of Joy, Kolkata has had quite a good April in terms of rains so far. For the entire month, the capital city of West Bengal observed Pre-Monsoon activities of varied intensity with slight breaks in between. In fact, there have been quite a few times when the city recorded considerable amounts of rainfall.

The day before also, the city did record some light spells of rainfall to the tune of 3 mm. With this, the city has now been able to record 112.2 mm which is the second highest monthly rains for April in a decade.
However, no rainfall was recorded over the state capital during the last 24 hours. As far as the temperatures are concerned, the maximum yesterday settled at 33.7 degrees Celsius which is a notch below the normal levels. Meanwhile, the minimum today settled at 26.6 degrees which is a degree above normal.
Currently, a cyclonic circulation can be seen over East Bihar and adjoining areas. Along with this, a trough can also be seen extending from this system up to Odisha. Thus, due to the influence of these weather features, the city of Kolkata is expected to witness moderate rains with isolated heavy falls starting tomorrow evening. In fact, some weather activity will also be observed over Kolkata today as well.
In fact, these rainfall activities are expected to continue until May 5 with varied intensity. With this, the month of April is expected to end on a rainy note for the city of Kolkata.
