As predicted earlier, Tech-City of Karnataka, Bengaluru, has received decent showers on three days: 21st, 22nd, and 23rd Apr. The weather of Bengaluru has mostly been dry yesterday and similar conditions are likely today as well. However, showers are waiting in the wings for Bengaluru and expected to make a hat trick on 27th, 28th, and 29th April. The last day of the month may spare Bengaluru from a drench and leave it for the 1st week of May.
Bengaluru city observatory has received 118.3mm against its monthly normal of 41.5mm. Over 100mm rainfall has been witnessed in the 3 days between 21st and 23rd April for Bengaluru. The upcoming trio of rainy days is likely to push the monthly rainfall for Bengaluru to 3 times of normal, which has happened only thrice in the last 10years. Incidentally, April 2021 is likely to be the rainiest in the last 5 years.
Pre-monsoon weather activity is going to be under the influence of seasonal trough running through the central peninsula and cutting across South Interior Karnataka. This trough also is oscillatory in nature and therefore leaves the rainfall distribution uneven. Heavy showers at 1 or 2 places can not be ruled out during this period.
Mostly the weather activity over Bengaluru will be during the evening and night. Partial cloud cover during the day may provide some relief but the day temperature is going to hover between 32 and 34 degrees. Mercury levels in the night will be comfortable to swing around the 20-21 degrees mark. More rains are expected during the 1st week of May.
